Designed by Ingham & Boyd for the Historical Society of Western Pennsylvania, this beautiful building has a unique Italian Renaissance style and the American woodwork of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

 

It officially opened on February 17, 1914 and since that time thousands and thousands of visitors have entered the building in search of cultural information or to be part of the many lectures, exhibitions, celebrations and other events held in the premises.

  

Since acquired by MedCano Corporation, it has been carefully renovated to preserve its historical status, majestic pillars and elegant marble floors.
